Seahawks Release Shaun Alexander
Just 26 months after Shaun Alexander signed a $62 million contract, the Seattle Seahawks have released the former MVP.
“It’s sad, really,” Seahawks President Tim Ruskell said after announcing the move. “He’s been such an upstanding guy through my whole tenure here. I don’t think we have that Super Bowl run if it wasn’t for Shaun.”
Even after just being released by a team he thought he would never leave, Alexander remains optimistic about his future in the NFL.
“I will be playing for another NFL team this fall, and doing everything I can to contribute,” said Alexander. “I am healthy, energized and looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my NFL career.”
Alexander’s days as a starter in the NFL are over but somebody will surely sign him as a complimentary back.

Alexander will be a great fit on a team with a decent starting RB, this veteran would get the fresh start he needs without the pressure of carrying his team.
