NFL Divisional Playoff Review

New England Patriots 31 > Jacksonville Jaguars 20
Was there ever a point in this game where you thought the Patriots were in trouble? Not in my opinion. Tom Brady was just 2 dropped passes away from a perfect game and the Jaguars defense is actually really good, Brady was just unstoppable. Unless Tom Terrific decides to take a trip to Mexico with Jessica Simpson (Sorry Romo) He’ll get his 4th ring and many will consider him to be the greatest of all time.
Green Bay Packers 42 > Seattle Seahawks 20
Forgetting about the first 5 minutes, this match-up turned out like I thought it would. Despite a couple fumbles, Ryan Grant was an absolute beast and Seattle struggled to find a way to slow him down. Favre played mistake free plus made a few big plays when the Packers needed him to, and I also have to mention Greg Jennings who often gets overlooked but he has become one of the best receivers in the NFL.
San Diego Chargers 28 > Indianapolis Colts 24
So I’ll admit, maybe Rivers isn’t as horrible as I want to believe. He made some really nice throws and even though he missed the entire 4th quarter, I can’t imagine the Chargers winning this game without Rivers playing as great as he did during the first 3 quarters. Tomlinson left the game before halftime and never returned but Michael Turner played very well in his place. Both Tomlinson and Rivers are expected to start against the Patriots next week.
New York Giants 21 > Dallas Cowboys 17
I’d like to blame this loss entirely on Romo heading to Mexico last week with Jessica Simpson but since I’m a nice guy I won’t mention it anymore so Terrell Owens can stop crying (although I must admit, I enjoyed watching him shed those tears…does that make me a bad person?).
I’ll just give all the credit to Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning. I’m amazed they’ve made it this far with all the pressure and scrutiny they’ve been under throughout the entire season. Somewhere Tiki Barber has to be sitting in a corner crying; wishing he would have came back this season with the Giants having such a great shot at reaching the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, if Tiki was still a Giant, Eli wouldn’t be maturing into a great quarterback.
