NFL Divisional Playoff Predictions
Seattle Seahawks vs. Green Bay Packers
Out of all the games this week, this one is the easiest for me to predict. I don’t see how Seattle can win this game. They don’t have a running game and the Packers defense will be able to put enough pressure on Matt Hasselbeck to shut him down. Unless Favre throws 5 interceptions I’m expecting a blow out with Ryan Grant having a huge day.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New England Patriots
Regardless if you love them or hate them, everybody will be watching this game to see if the Patriots can keep their streak alive. Jacksonville’s strengths take advantage of the Patriots weaknesses, so this will not be an easy game for New England nor will it be anywhere near a blow out. I think the Patriots will pull out the victory with a 4th quarter surge but the Jags will have a chance to pull off the upset as long as they don’t turn the ball over or commit stupid penalties.
San Diego Chargers vs. Indianapolis Colts
Without Antonio Gates the Chargers don’t stand a chance and even with him in the game they won’t win. I don’t care if you give the Chargers Terrell Owens and Randy Moss they’re not winning this game because of Philip Rivers. As you may already know I’m not a big fan of his and I’m expecting him to throw at least 3 interceptions. The only hope San Diego has of winning is if their defense and special teams can score 3 touchdowns. The Colts defense won’t leave Tomlinson find any running room so he’ll start crying and screaming at his quarterback, while Rivers will just be sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs and staring off into space. Memo to Shawne Merriman: Get the steroids ready, it’s going to be long day.
New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys
Can Eli have another great week? I doubt it, but here’s the more important question, Will Jessica Simpson be at the game? If she is, the Cowboys will lose. If she stays home Romo will play great and lead Dallas to a victory. Well, actually it’s not that easy. Regardless of what his girlfriend does, Romo will have a hard time dealing with the Giants pass rush. If he’s without a 100% healthy Terrell Owens, Witten will get doubled team and Romo will have a very difficult time finding any open receiver. But even if the Cowboys have a hard time putting points on the board, will Eli be able to? This will definitely be a great game and I could see it going either way but right now I’m favoring Dallas by a field goal.
