NFL Conference Championship Review

New England Patriots 21 > San Diego Chargers 12
The New England Patriots won but it was a lot closer than many people, including myself, predicted. I don’t know if he was sick or what, but Tom Brady played his worst game of the season. Fortunately for him, Laurence Maroney played the best game of his short career and the entire Patriots defense was outstanding.
With Tomlinson out for most of the game and Rivers obviously no where near 100% the Chargers played better than anyone could have imagined, but the Patriots may very well be unbeatable.
New York Giants 23 > Green Bay Packers 20
I knew this would be a close game, I even predicted a late field goal would win it…I just had the winning teams mixed up
.
Eli Manning played another great game and managed the offense perfectly but most the credit for this win should go to the Giants defense. Their plan was to shut down Ryan Grant and make Favre beat them through the air, in the bone-chilling cold. Considering the conditions, Favre played well and kept his team in the game, but in overtime he threw a crucial interception that allowed the Giants to kick the game winning field goal.
So it’ll be the Giants vs. the Patriots in Super Bowl 42 and I’m sure New England will be heavy favorites but the game will be much closer than everyone thinks. Just remember, the Giants almost beat the Patriots in week 17.
