Martz Thinks Lions Suck
For the past 2 seasons Mike Martz has been the Offensive Coordinator of the Detroit Lions but now since he’s with the San Francisco 49ers, he wants to make sure the world knows how much he hated his former team.
“In Detroit we were not a good football team,” Martz said. “We were last in the NFL on defense and when you have to throw the football to win, that’s not a good thing. We weren’t good enough on the offensive line to protect [quarterback Jon Kitna] and throw the ball like we did. When I was with the Rams, we were. The number of hits on the quarterback when I was with the Rams near the end of my time there was about the middle of the pack. In the early goings, it was actually very low and we were ranked near the best in the league.”
Martz sure isn’t known as one of the quietest coaches in the league but does he really have to publicly criticize his former team? I hate it when coaches and players blame everyone else except themselves. It’s time for Martz to step up, be a man and take responsibility for some of his horrible playcalling.
Here’s an idea Martz — You work on trying to teach Alex Smith how to throw a football and I’ll take care of criticizing those crappy Lions.

They sucked before he got to Detroit and they sucked when he was there and they will suck next season. Bottom line is the Detroit situation cannot be blamed on any coach. That teams problems go higher up the chain.
