Lions Release Kevin Jones
In a surprise move, the Detroit Lions have cut running back Kevin Jones.
“While there are always a number of factors that go into this type of decision, we do believe this move brings clarity to our roster and also eliminate some uncertainty heading into the draft that would have otherwise existed,” Head coach Rod Marinelli said in a statement.
Jones is one of the most talented running backs in the league but after suffering a torn ACL and a Lisfranc injury many people doubt he’ll ever be the same player he once was.
Even with his injury history I’ll be shocked if there aren’t multiple teams interested in taking a chance on him. I don’t expect Jones to be a free agent for very long.
