Giants Shock the World

giants-lombardi-trophy.jpgThe New York Giants are now the Super Bowl Champions after defeating the New England Patriots 17-14.

“The guys on this team and the run we’ve made, it’s hard to believe — it really is,” Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning said. “The drive at the end there were so many clutch plays by so many guys. It is an unbelievable game and an unbelievable feeling.”

The Giants defense never allowed Tom Brady with much time in the pocket and as a result the Patriots were held to a season low 14 points.

“We shocked the world but not ourselves,” Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce said.

The Patriots defense played very well for most of the game but when it mattered most, with just seconds on the clock, Eli Manning made some extremely clutch throws, including the game winner to Plaxico Burress.

“This is the greatest feeling in professional sports. For us to come out and win a world championship tonight — nobody gave us a shot,” Burress said.

The Giants played their hearts out and deserved to win Super Bowl XLII.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!
