Favre Ends Legendary Career
After years of pondering retirement, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre has ended his legendary 17-year NFL career.
“I know I can still play, but it’s like I told my wife, I’m just tired mentally. I’m just tired,” Favre said in a voice mail left for ESPN’s Chris Mortensen “I know it shouldn’t feel unsuccessful, but the only way to come back and make that be the right decision would be to come back and win a Super Bowl. And honestly, the odds of that, they’re tough. Those are big shoes for me to fill, and I guess it was a challenge I wasn’t up for. “
Brett Favre isn’t up for a challenge? That’s something I never thought I’d hear him say.
Favre is one of the best and most exciting players to ever play in the National Football League and we will never see another quarterback quite like him ever again.
Thanks for a lot of great football memories Brett.
Enjoy retirement!
