Dunn Returns to Tampa Bay
After signing a 2-year, $6 million deal on Monday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Warrick Dunn has returned to the team that drafted him way back in 1997.
“I think I said it a while ago: It’s full circle to start your career in Tampa and have the opportunity to finish it there,” Dunn told the St. Petersburg Times. “I’m just really honored and humbled that the coaches believed in me, and hopefully I can come in and get to know those guys and just continue doing what I’ve been doing.”
“I just want to fit in and learn my role and help the team. Coach Gruden told me to just go out and play my game and have fun. That’s what he wants me to do.”
It’ll be interested to see how the Bucs plan to use Warrick with Earnest Graham. Graham exceeded everyone’s expectations with his play after Cadillac Williams went down and if Gruden is smart he’ll let Graham pound the rock 25+ times a game in 2008.
