Chatman Leaves Miami; Signs With Jets
Former Miami Dolphins running back Jesse Chatman has signed a 1-year contract with the AFC East rival New York Jets.
“It was a great visit,” Chatman’s agent, Brett Tessler, said. “He felt very comfortable and thinks the Jets offer him a great opportunity.”
Last season Chatman started 6 games for Miami when Ronnie Brown suffered a season-ending knee injury. Chatman exceeded everyone’s expectations and at times he looked better than Brown ever has.
The Jets signed Chatman as a backup for starter Thomas Jones but don’t be surprised if Chatman steals the starting job before midseason.
