Belichick named AP Coach Of The Year
New England Patriots Head Coach has been named Coach of the Year by the Associated Press.
“This is definitely a team recognition but one that I appreciate very much on a personal level,” Belichick said in a statement.
Belichick received 29 votes from a panel of 50 media members finishing ahead of Green Bay’s Mike McCarthy, who received 15 votes.
There’s no doubt in my mind, if Belichick was warm and cuddly with the media he would have won unanimously but I’m glad the majority of voters were able to look past their personal feelings and reward the right guy.
