Alex Smith Is Ready to Move On
San Francisco 49ers former No. 1 draft pick, quarterback Alex Smith is determined to put the horrendous 2007 season behind him and prove all his critics wrong.
“It was such a crazy situation last year,” Smith said. “Coach Nolan and I are both excited to be moving on from it.”
Smith’s season was cut short after he was forced to have season-ending surgery on his throwing shoulder and he still hasn’t fully recovered from the procedure.
“The main thing is to work out that tightness and stiffness in some areas. … I still have another month or so to get it where it needs to be, so I’m trying to take my time with it,” Smith Said
I wish him well because if he isn’t greatly improved in 2008, Smith may very well become the biggest bust since Ryan Leaf.

Alex Smith doesn’t deserve another chance. he has had more than enough chances to prove himself. the only reason that he had one good year was because of Norv turner’s genius. they should cut their losses and say good bye to this over paid nerd. but that will not happen because he is so highly paid. which is a shame. Shaun Hill has improved more in the second half of last season that everything Alex Smith has ever done in his life. Obviously the 49er’s will give him a chance that he doesn’t deserve, and he will probably start for the first couple of games. hopefully the 49er’s see that Alex Smith isn’t worth the time it takes to say his name. Bite the bullet and cut him now!
