49ers Hire Mike Martz
Less then a week after being fired by the Detroit Lions, Mike Martz has been named the new offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers.
“This thing (in San Francisco) is so close, so close,” said Martz who watched film of the offense with Mike Nolan before being hired. “The pieces are there. … It’s not like we have to go out and get a bunch of players. It’s not a challenge, it’s an opportunity.”
I can’t wait to see what he’ll do with Frank Gore and whoever his QB will be. If Martz doesn’t turn things around for the offense, Nolan will get the axe next year.
