2008 NFL Mock Draft (Picks 1-5)
With the first pick in the 2008 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins select Offensive Tackle Jake Long from the University of Michigan. Bill Parcells knows it takes talent on the O-line to have an effective offense and Jake Long has the ability to make a difference like Joe Thomas did for the Browns last season.
(2) St. Louis Rams – Chris Long, DE Virginia
This pick would solidify their starters on the defensive line so they could focus on bringing in skilled linebackers in free agency and later in the draft.
(3) Atlanta Falcons – Matt Ryan, QB Boston College
If the Falcons want any chance at becoming competitive in the near future then this pick is a no brainer. Hopefully they have learned their lesson from last season — you can’t win without a quarterback!
(4) Oakland Raiders – Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas
With Al Davis running the show I wouldn’t be surprised if they selected a punter with this pick but the logical choice has to be Darren McFadden. Oakland fans will be very mad if McFadden doesn’t become a Raider.
(5) Kansas City Chiefs – Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU
The Chiefs could use help in several different areas but Dorsey is by far the best available player left on the board at this point and Kansas City could always use help on defense.
