Todd Collins Leads Redskins to Victory
The Washington Redskins beat the Chicago Bears 24-16 Thursday night after both Rex Grossman and Jason Campbell went down with knee injuries early in the game.
Grossman was replaced by Brian Griese on Chicago’s second possession and Campbell left in the 2nd quarter with a dislocated left kneecap, he was replaced by Todd Collins. Both injuries appeared to be very serious, possibly season ending.
Collins, who hasn’t completed a pass since 2004, played very well. He threw for 2 touchdowns but most importantly he didn’t make any dumb mistakes.
“It was so abrupt,” Collins said. “I haven’t gotten any reps lately or any game action.”
The Redskins are now 6-7 and still have a chance at reaching the playoffs, but I highly doubt it.
