Teams Begin Roster Cuts
NFL Teams have begun releasing players as the 75 player roster limit nears. Here are a few of the notable names:
The Steelers cut Kevan Barlow — when they first signed him he was expected to steal most of the short-yardage/ goal-line carries from Willie Parker. It’s time to face it, Barlow will never reach his potential.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have said goodbye to tight end Jermaine Wiggins — Although he is past his prime, some team will pick him up. He still has great hands and is capable of being a very productive player if matched with the right QB.
Tim Dwight’s NFL career may be over after the New York Jets waived him. At 32 years old he is now too slow to overcome his height (5′8) and he can no longer stay healthy.
And Finally the Vikings have released Drew Henson. Hopefully no other team is dumb enough to sign this guy again. I’d take Akili Smith over Henson.
