Raiders Cut Mike Williams
Former Detroit Lions 1st round draft pick, wide receiver Mike Williams, has been cut by the Oakland Raiders; most likely ending his NFL career.
The former USC star was hyped by many draft analysts. He was supposed to be an unstoppable receiver, too fast for linebackers and safeties yet to strong for cornerbacks. Instead he ended up being the biggest WR bust since Charles Rogers.
Williams never showed any passion for football at a professional level. He never made an attempt to get in shape and repeatedly dropped passes.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see him catching passes from Eric Crouch in the AAFL someday soon.

Williams may not be smart enough for the AAFL since he left school early to go to the NFL. You must have a 4-year degree to play in the AAFL. Perhaps he’ll go back to get his degree.
