Monday Morning Review — Week 4

chiefs-chargers.jpgFalcons 26 > Texans 16
Congratulations to Bobby Petrino for picking up his first NFL win but it’s obvious the Texans missed wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Ahman Green. The Falcons are a bad team and I’ll be shocked it they win 5 games this season.

Bills 17 > Jets 14
If you watched this game I feel sorry for you. Both the Jets and the Bills are horrible and have no chance of making the playoffs.

J.P. Losman may never get his starting job back since rookie Trent Edwards has played much better with fewer mistakes. If you were wondering, Lee Evans is alive and actually decided to catch a few footballs.

What happened to Eric Mangenious? His team stinks.

Browns 27 > Ravens 13
McNair should be benched after this loss; the Ravens have played better with Kyle Boller in the game. I know the Browns always play them tuff but at the end of the day they’re still the Cleveland Browns!

The Media needs to start showing Leigh Bodden some love, he’s a top 5 cornerback in the NFL.

Cowboys 35 > Rams 7
Without a healthy Steven Jackson and Marc Bulger the Rams are a disaster.

The Cowboys will continue their dominance next week against the Buffalo Bills.

Lions 37 > Bears 27
I expected Brian Griese to play much better but I never thought the Bears defense would give up 37 points.

The Lions have a very good chance at making the playoffs as a wildcard team — Matt Millen has to feel pretty relieved.

Memo to the entire NFL: Devin Hester will make you look silly, DO NOT kick to him!

Raiders 35 > Dolphins 17
See Joey Porter, this is why you keep your mouth shut and never make stupid guarantees. The Oakland Raiders dominated you and their starting running back (Lamont Jordan) missed the 2nd half. Next time you feel like opening your mouth do what you normally do – give your coach some tongue.

Packers 23 > Vikings 16
Brett Favre is now the NFL’s all-time leader in career touchdown passes which is great but do we need to be reminded every 5 minutes? Seriously, the media loves him way to much.

If the Vikings want to win they’ll need to give Adrian Peterson more than 12 carries.

Seahawks 23 > 49ers 3
The 49ers were doomed when quarterback Alex Smith left the game early in the first quarter. Trent Dilfer replaced him but played awful.

Seattle isn’t flashy but they know how to win.

Buccaneers 20 > Panthers 7
David Carr started for an injured Jake Delhomme and struggled as expected. Steve Smith was furious during the game (I don’t blame him).

Jeff Garcia has really improved the Bucs offense and their defense is always good. Cadillac Williams suffered a torn patellar tendon and had to be carted off the field. He’ll undergo surgery later this week and miss the rest of the season.

Colts 38 > Broncos 20
Without Javon Walker the Broncos didn’t stand a chance; the Colts manhandled them.

Cardinals 21 > Steelers 14
I can honestly say I didn’t see this coming. Arizona held the Steelers to just 77 rushing yards and picked off Roethlisberger twice.

Kurt Warner has played better than Leinart the last couple weeks and should continue to see more playing time. The most impressive thing about this win – Anquan Boldin didn’t play a down.

Chiefs 30 > Chargers 16
It took a few years but I think the Chiefs may have finally found a good wide receiver in Dwayne Bowe who had 8 grabs for 164 yards and a touchdown.

Despite all those weapons, Philip Rivers is playing awfully bad and Norv Turner may be tempted to see what backup Billy Volek can do.

Check back to NFLGuru.net later this week to see if the Chargers made our list of the bottom 5 NFL teams.

Giants 16 > Eagles 3
The Eagles will not win a single game without Brian Westbrook and this Sunday night game proved why. Although Correll Buckhalter played well, the entire Philadelphia offense is built around Westbrook.

The Giants defense played great and once running back Brandon Jacobs returns their offense will be much better.

I wonder if McNabb will make this loss a race issue…
