Leftwich Named Starter Over Harrington
Atlanta Falcons coach Bobby Petrino has announced Byron Leftwich as the starting quarterback over Joey “Journeyman” Harrington.
“We need to make a change and get something going,” Petrino said. “He (Leftwich) has a very strong arm, he throws the ball deep down the field, and he just needs to be able to see it, and I have the confidence that he can put it in there. I think he’ll do well.”
Don’t expect this move to put the Falcons on a win streak. Contrary to popular belief, Harrington wasn’t the problem — his receivers were.
