Huard Wins Starting Job
The Kansas City Chiefs have named former Dan Marino backup, Damon Huard as their starting quarterback over Brodie Croyle.
“He gives us the best chance to win on the road in Houston,” Head Coach Herm Edwards said. “Our team will rally around him. He brings a bit of calmness in the huddle for us right now, which I think we need, and some stability at that position. We haven’t been very consistent on offense.”
But the Chiefs still think Croyle has a bright future ahead.
“Brodie Croyle has a great future for us. He will one day be the starting quarterback for this football team,” Edwards Said. “You can see a lot of flashes, a lot of potential in the guy. But it’s all about winning and all about winning now.”
The Chiefs made the right decision — Huard gives them the best chance to win right now. While Croyle gives them the best chance to get the first pick in the 2008 NFL draft.
