Holcomb a Viking?
Quarterback Kelly Holcomb told FoxSports.com that he would like a chance to play for the Minnesota Vikings.
“You do think about situations like that,” Holcomb said. “Every now and again, you hear some rumblings and rumors about that. I think it makes sense. Coach Childress was a coordinator in Philadelphia. It is the same offense. Obviously the Eagles just drafted Kevin (Kolb) to go with Donovan (McNabb) and AJ (Feeley). I love the guys in Philadelphia and love the professionalism and Andy Reid and the staff and I’d like to stay. But there is a logjam here and that situation you are describing, with the young talented quarterback in Minnesota, is one I’ve thought about.”
This actually sounds like a perfect fit. Tarvaris Jackson is very young and still has a lot to learn, eventually I believe he will be a great player in the league (Better than Michael Vick atleast). Holcomb would be a good veteran QB for the Vikings to sign as insurance to Jackson.
If something happened to Jackson, I’m sure the Vikings wouldn’t feel comfortable with current back-up Brooks Bollinger as their starter — Unless they enjoy losing.
