Have No Fear Bears Fans, Griese is Here
Rex Grossman is heading to the bench, where he belongs. Many sources including The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and NFL.com have reported veteran Quarterback Brian Griese will start for the Bears Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
Bears fans have been waiting to hear this news since last year and finally the day has arrived. They no longer have to watch one of the worst QBs in recent memory (Rex Grossman) single handedly lose games they should easily win.
So far this season Grossman has thrown 6 interceptions and just 1 touchdown, but his lack of leadership has always been his biggest weakness. His teammates don’t believe in him and it’s almost as if they’re just waiting for him to make a mistake — they’re never left waiting long.
Some naysayers believe Griese will be worse than Rex, but I tend to think they may be blind because there is no possible way that any human who has ever existed on planet earth can be worse than Rex Grossman. (That may be taking it a little too far, but I hope you get the point.)
