Favre gets hurt; Cowboys win.
The Dallas Cowboys clinched a playoff spot and will most likely have home field advantage throughout, after defeating the Green Bay Packers 37-27 on Thursday night.
“When I got out to the field, [I realized] it was pretty neat, the atmosphere,” Romo said. “I looked around and was like, `This is why you want to play sports.’ You want to play in games like this. Your competitive juices get flowing and you want to prove what kind of player you are.”
Not only did the Packers lose the game, they also lost Brett Favre in the 2nd quarter after being hit by Cowboys’ cornerback Nate Jones. Sources say Favre is suffering from a banged up right shoulder and separated left shoulder.
“I had a similar injury last year,” Favre said. “I lost feeling in my fingers and I still have some tingling. But I think I’ll be fine.”
Former first round draft pick Aaron Rodgers replaced Favre and played much better than expected.
“I thought he played great,” Favre said. “He gave us a chance to win.”
Before Rodgers came into the game the Packers trailed 27-10 but he rallied the team and gave them every opportunity to win the game.
There’s certainly not a Quarterback controversy in Green Bay but Packer fans should feel great about their backup. He looks like he’s ready to become a starting QB somewhere next season.
