Colts End Freeney’s Season
The Indianapolis Colts have placed 3 time pro bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney on injured reserve due to suffering a Lisfranc injury in his left foot in Sunday night’s loss to the San Diego Chargers.
“Dwight is a player you cannot replace,” safety Bob Sanders said. “But we’ll continue to move on, continue to get better. We’ll put new guys in and continue to roll. That’s what Dwight would want us to do.”
This is absolutely devastating news for the Colts. Their pass rush has been one of the best in the NFL so far this season but without Freeney they will find it near impossible to rush the opposing quarterback.
