Cedric Benson Out for the Season
Chicago Bears starting running back Cedric Benson will miss the rest of the season due to an ankle injury requiring surgery.
“It’s tough when you lose your starting tailback. Cedric went down with a season-ending injury, which is a tough break,” Bears coach Lovie Smith said after the Bears beat the Broncos 37-34 in overtime. “He went out on a good run. He had put together two good weeks. … We’ll miss him.”
Benson has been a bust so far in his short NFL career and the Bears may look for another RB this off-season.
Make sure to pick up Benson’s back-up Adrian Peterson in your fantasy leagues this week. He’s a good back and a reliable receiving threat.
